Agricultural producer Vladimir Dabanović from Bar started to breed livestock in 2010, and a few years later, due to the increase in the volume of work, he founded the company "Biotrend". His pig farm, thanks to the support of the Kingdom of Norway through the project "Norway for you - Montenegro", now has the potential to become the first registered breeding center in the country.
As part of the support, the company "Biotrend" received software for register accounting on the farm, which enables records on each animal and thus gives the possibility of own production of breeding pigs. Given that there is no registered center for the production of breeding pigs in Montenegro, "Biotrend" could produce gilts for the overhaul of its own and other herds.
"I am aware of the fact that digitization has become important in every business, so it has also found application in animal husbandry, for the purpose of optimizing production, saving resources, and achieving better efficiency," Dabanović explains.
Norway's support was aimed at the introduction of digitization in agriculture to improve farm capacity and reduce weaknesses in the business, and ultimately significant growth in the economic aspect of the company "Biotrend".
"Now there is an opportunity to form the first breeding center in Montenegro, which will include the purchase of purebred breeding pigs, enable even better results in the production itself, and lead to the latest standards and the best utilization of the technical predispositions of the animals", says Dabanović.
In addition to creating software for register accounting, "Biotrend" also received funds for the purchase of a computer for the purpose of using the software and the support of mentors for digital marketing for advertising on social networks and platforms that support agricultural producers.
The company "Biotrend" is the end user of the project "SUPPORT4SME", which was implemented by the Business Start Center Bar in cooperation with the Municipality of Bar, and funded by the Kingdom of Norway through the project "Norway for You - Montenegro".
